Vighnesh came up in life the hard way – the lift was out of order! Even as a child he gave ample evidence of the artist within him. His neighbours too got to know of this every time he visited their homes. Once he had left, they would proceed to rail at his parents about what he had done to their walls. Being born at an early age gave him ample time to hone his talents. Vighnesh is a perfectionist, which means the clients swear by him while his juniors swear at him.
It may be hard to really get to know Vighnesh but it is even harder to ignore his work which you too have, surely, come across, without knowing who created it. Such is the price a true artist has to pay.
Vighnesh has built some of India’s most popular fashion and lifestyle brands including Portico New York, Park Avenue, Bombay Dyeing, ITC (Personal Products), GoAir, Godrej Foods, Godrej Hair Care, and TBZ. He has also created communication for brands like Red Bull, Honda City, Zandu, Sony Channel, Skoda, Sony TV, AXN and Reliance R-World. The exterior livery of the Air India Express fleet carries Vighnesh’sunique visual signature and has gone on to win many global design awards.
Lahar prefers a good movie over anything else in life, which is why he sees so few movies. (Who’s making good movies these days?!?). His bearded, spectacled, serious look may make you feel that he is an intellectual but don’t be fooled by this. He really is an intellectual!
Lahar is on a quest to discover the true beauty of life through the realm of communication. He really believes that Beauty is an absolute value!
He is also a keen student of Pop Culture. This also means he knows that every culture goes ‘pop’ every few months and morphs into the next big fad – not a bad quality for a Brand–man to have.
Lahar has been a social entrepreneur since 2013, prior to which, he spent 7 years working with ad agencies like DDB Mudra Group (erst. Mudra), Ogilvy & Mather and Law & Kenneth dealing with global institutions like Volkswagen, Cadbury's, Kodak, Taj Holidays & Reliance ADAG, Bombay Dyeing & The Wadia Group to name a few.
A 29-year old professional photographer, he has an extensive experience of capturing compelling images from around the globe.
His 'Vanishing Tribes' project has taken him to Ethiopia, Ecuador and most recently Nagaland and Leh. He was commissioned by the UN to work with war refugees in Iraq.
His work has been featured by media giants including CNN, Buzzfeed, National Geographic, and The Huffington Post.
